It was Hera who ordered the river god Scamander to step aside and make way for the great Achilles. She guided the spear of great Diomedes alongside Athena against her own son, Ares. During the Trojan War, it was Hera who convinced Athena to fight for the Achaeans. She would aid the hero Jason and his Argonauts. Moved and humbled by his words and deeds, Hera sought to understand mankind more. Confused by his rescue, she would question Alcides, who simply answered "Whether they be good or evil, no one deserves to be a prisoner to oppression." However it was Alcides who had come to her rescue, defeating the Giant king and placing Hera back on her throne. For weeks, she awaited her rescue, patiently expecting one of the her race to save her. This changed however, on the day she would be kidnapped by the Gigantes and was being forced into marriage by their king. but this isn't truly the case.ĭuring the 12 Labours of Heracles, at the time when he was still known as Alcides, she made his life as difficult as any other bastard of Zeus.
